Aminu Bande Resigns from PDP Ahead of Kebbi Elections

Aminu Bande, who previously contested for the governorship of Kebbi State under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has officially resigned from the party. His resignation was communicated in a letter addressed to the ward chairman of the PDP on April 5, 2026.

Bande stated that his decision came after deep consideration and reflection on his political journey and the need to align with a platform that promotes good and fair governance for the people of Kebbi State. He emphasized the necessity of adopting a stable political platform, especially in light of the upcoming elections against the incumbent governor, Nasir Idris, from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bande indicated that further decisions regarding his political future would be announced soon.
