Kebbi Governor Plans Salary Review for Primary Teachers

On Tuesday, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State announced plans to review the salary structure of primary school teachers across the state. During an interactive session held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, he stated that a committee would be inaugurated to assess and recommend changes to teachers' salaries and welfare within 30 days.

Idris emphasized the administration's commitment to implementing the minimum wage and ensuring that teachers' concerns receive prompt attention. He urged local government chairmen to clarify the status of salary adjustments for primary school teachers, who reportedly confirmed that salary increases had commenced but were not yet fully implemented.

Additionally, the governor pledged to introduce a loan scheme for teachers, which would include vehicle, motorcycle, and housing loans to enhance their welfare and living conditions. He reiterated the importance of quality basic education for the state's future and urged teachers to remain committed and not allow distractions that could undermine the administration's achievements.
