Kebbi State Governor Launches Probe into Teacher Salaries

On Monday, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State inaugurated a committee to probe infractions related to the payment of primary school teachers' salaries. The committee's mandate includes identifying individuals responsible for these salary payment irregularities and determining the necessary accountability measures.

Governor Idris emphasized the importance of justice and fairness for teachers, highlighting that they should receive their earnings without compromise. The committee is also expected to assess the implementation of the new minimum wage and its impact on the monthly funding from local government authorities.

Professor Malami Shehu Gulumb was appointed as the chair of the committee, which is required to submit its report within a month. The governor urged the committee members to carry out their assignments diligently, stressing that any form of compromise regarding teachers' salaries would not be tolerated.
