Kebbi Hisbah Board Addresses 4,058 Cases of Immorality

The Kebbi Hisbah Board reported that it treated 4,058 cases of immorality and drug abuse since the beginning of the current administration in 2023. Commissioner Muhammad Sani Aliyu provided these statistics during a briefing on the activities of the ministry.

The state government, under Governor Nasir Idris, responded to a long-standing demand for the creation of a full-fledged ministry for religious affairs, which was previously a department. This change aims to improve service delivery in religious matters and promote peaceful coexistence among different religious groups.

To further address moral decay among youth, the governor appointed two special advisers to handle Islamic affairs and Christian matters. Additionally, a bill to upgrade the Kebbi Hisbah Board was passed by the state house of assembly and has received the governor's assent, enhancing the board's mandate to cleanse society.
