Kebbi University Student Killed in Hostel Attack

Zaharadeen Nuhu, a 300-level biochemistry student at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, was killed during an attack at a private hostel in Kalgo, Kebbi State. The incident, which occurred on a Thursday, involved a group of thieves who inflicted severe machete injuries on Nuhu.

He was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away in the early hours of the same day. Prof.

Ibrahim Magawata, the Dean of Student Affairs, confirmed the incident in a circular released to journalists, expressing deep sorrow over the loss. Following the attack, the university management contacted the Nigeria Police Force in Kalgo to initiate an investigation and has intensified security patrols in off-campus areas.

A meeting with the hostel owner was scheduled to enforce stricter security measures, including improved lighting and night guards. Students were advised to avoid late-night movements and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

Nuhu's burial took place on the same Thursday after funeral prayers at the mosque of the Federal Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.
