Taraba Governor Releases N300m for New Mosque Construction

On Wednesday, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas announced the release of N300 million for the construction of a new mosque to serve three Islamic sects in the state. This decision follows a recent crisis regarding the ownership and control of the central mosque in Donga Local Government Area, which involved disputes among members of the Izala, Jo Izala Kaduna, and Darika Muslim Council.

The conflict had raised security concerns within the community, prompting Governor Kefas to intervene swiftly. In a press statement signed by Zainab Jalingo, the governor emphasized the importance of peace, coexistence, and religious tolerance in the region.
