Ondo Youth Ojo Abbei Found Dead After Kidnapping

Ojo Abbei, a popular youth from Isua Akoko in the Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State, was reported kidnapped on February 22, 2026, by armed men suspected to be herdsmen. His body was discovered decomposed in a forest near Igara, Edo State, following a search by local hunters.

The Isua Youth Forum condemned the killing, calling it a grim reminder of the worsening security situation in the area. They urged Governor Lucki Aiyedatiwa to intervene urgently to curb the rising wave of insecurity and demanded a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in this heinous crime.

The police confirmed the incident, stating that suspects are currently in custody to assist with the investigation. Adebowal Lawal, the police commissioner, ordered intensified surveillance strategies to prevent further attacks along the Ondo-Edo boundary.
