Osun Security Aide Vows No Protection for Crime Perpetrators

Samuel Ojo, the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Security Matters, announced that the Adeleke administration will not shield individuals involved in the recent surge of violent crimes in Osun State. This statement came during a telephone interview in Osogbo, where Ojo addressed allegations that the government was protecting those implicated in the murder of Olalekan Oyeyemi.

Oyeyemi was reportedly killed amid a leadership struggle within the Osun State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). Two NURTW leaders, Gbedegesin and Kareem Akeem, claimed in a viral video that Oyeyemi was set to become the next chairman after receiving government endorsement, a claim denied by the state Commissioner for Transportation, Sesan Oyedele.

In response to the recent violence, which has resulted in multiple deaths, Ojo confirmed that an emergency security meeting was convened, led by Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, with attendance from various security agencies and cabinet members. The meeting aimed to restore peace and prevent further loss of life.
