Kogi State's Lokoja Ultra Modern Market to Boost Trade

The Kogi State Government is developing the Lokoja Ultra Modern Market, which is expected to significantly enhance commerce across Nigeria due to the state's strategic location. The market will occupy 25 hectares and integrate traders from seven existing markets in Lokoja.

Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, stated that this project is a flagship initiative of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's administration, aimed at urban renewal in Lokoja. The market will feature various facilities, including open trading spaces, lock-up shops, technology hubs, banking facilities, and a modern butchery, all designed to meet international standards.

Fanwo emphasized that the project would create thousands of jobs, strengthen small and medium enterprises, and boost Kogi's internally generated revenue. He described the market as a legacy project that would transform Kogi State's commercial landscape, alongside the planned airport, marking a significant advancement for the state.
