Asari Dokubo Vows to Campaign Against Kwankwaso in 2027

Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has publicly declared his intention to campaign against Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. In a video that circulated on social media, Dokubo accused Kwankwaso of attempting to mislead Muslim voters and pledged to mobilize against him.

He expressed confidence that the residents of Kano would reject Kwankwaso in the upcoming elections. Dokubo further alleged that Kwankwaso's political positioning manipulates sentiments among voters, questioning his credibility among the northern electorate.

Kwankwaso, who recently exited the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has intensified his political activities within the opposition ranks. As of the time of reporting, Kwankwaso had not responded to Dokubo's claims.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the ADC made an appeal via video for Nigerians, particularly the youth, to complete their voter registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the elections.
