Kwara APC Protest Against Governorship Primary Results

Supporters of Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki protested against the outcome of the APC governorship primary held in Kwara State, where Rt. Hon.

Yakubu Danladi Salihu was declared the winner with 94,990 votes, defeating Seriki, who secured 41,700 votes. The protest, organized by the Kwara APC Youth Forum, involved members expressing their dissatisfaction with the primary results, which they deemed unacceptable and not reflective of the party's genuine wishes.

They accused party leaders of manipulating the primary process and demanded that the national leadership of the APC recognize Seriki as the authentic candidate. The protest highlighted the disappointment among party members, with claims that the primary was characterized by predetermined arrangements that suppressed the will of the members.

The demonstrators emphasized Seriki's widespread support across various demographics in the state, including youth, women, and community leaders, and called for unity within the party to avoid losing confidence in the democratic process.
