Kwara State Monitors Community Revolving Fund Impact

The Kwara State Government has commenced a post-disbursement monitoring and assessment of beneficiaries of its Community Revolving Fund (CRF) across 10 communities, including Adewole, Warah, Afon, Oke-Ogun, Iponrin, Tsaragi, Shonga, Lafiagi, Lade, and Patigi. This initiative, part of the Kwara State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project, aims to evaluate the utilization of funds, assess early impacts on beneficiaries’ livelihoods, identify challenges, and provide guidance for sustainability.

The monitoring team engaged with beneficiaries and community leaders, inspected farms, and reviewed the progress of various groups. The CRF was recently disbursed to strengthen the economic resilience of vulnerable community members, particularly women, youths, farmers, and organized Community Interest Groups.

The first phase targeted 50 Community Interest Groups, comprising about 1,000 beneficiaries, with a revolving facility structure requiring repayment to benefit others. Beneficiaries reported expanded farmlands and increased production activities, with some engaging in additional livestock farming.
