Kwara OPC Chief Bayo Fabiyi Abducted During Ransom Delivery

Bayo Fabiyi, the chief of the Oodua People's Congress (OPC) in Kwara State, along with two associates, was reportedly abducted during a mission to deliver a N30 million ransom for a kidnap victim in the Irepodun Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Sunday and has sparked significant concern within the community.

Reports indicate that the kidnappers had demanded N30 million, five motorcycles, and three bags of rice for the victim's release. However, upon arrival at the designated location for the ransom exchange, Fabiyi and his associates were ambushed instead of the victim being released.

Sources suggest that the victim may have already been killed prior to the ransom delivery. Adekimi Ojo, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, stated that no formal report had been received regarding the abduction, but an investigation would be initiated once a report is made.

This incident comes just five weeks after a previous kidnapping case, highlighting the increasing insecurity in the region.
