OPC Chieftain Bayo Fabiyi Abducted in Kwara State

Bayo Fabiyi, a chieftain of the Odua People's Congress (OPC), was abducted along with two others in Oko Ires, Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. The kidnappers, suspected bandits, demanded a ransom of N30 million.

The incident reportedly involved the abduction of Fabiyi and a driver when they were delivering ransom items, which included five motorcycles and three bags of rice, to facilitate the release of the victims. It was learned that one of the kidnapped victims was the deceased brother of a high-profile politician in the state.

OPC members confirmed the development, stating that the police were not informed about the kidnapping involving their member. The police command, led by Adekimi Ojo, was unaware of the incident until it was reported.

The abduction occurred in a thick forest area near Kogi State, where the kidnappers operated at gunpoint.
