Kwara State Monarch’s Wife Abducted in Fresh Kidnapping

In a recent wave of kidnappings in Kwara State, the wife of a traditional ruler was abducted along with two other residents in separate attacks within a 24-hour period in Edu Local Government Area. The first incident occurred on Friday night, August 21, 2026, when suspected terrorists invaded a community and took the traditional ruler's wife.

The kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for her release. Reports indicate that the abductors utilized the TikTok account of another kidnapping victim to disseminate information about the abduction and to communicate their ransom demands.

The identities of both the abducted woman and the traditional ruler have not been disclosed. This incident has escalated tensions in the affected community, reflecting growing concerns over the increasing frequency of attacks and kidnappings in various parts of Kwara State.
