Labour Party Chooses Juliana Obetta as Deputy Candidate

The Labour Party has officially nominated Juliana Obetta as the deputy governor candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Benue State, alongside Mathia Byuan, who was affirmed as the gubernatorial candidate. The announcement was made at the party's secretariat in Makurdi, where Byuan urged the people of Benue to support the Labour Party and emphasized the need for economic development and job creation for the youth.

Juliana Obetta, a rural politician and the first female elected chairman of the Okpokwu Local Government Council from 2012 to 2014, expressed her commitment to advocating for women's voices in governance. She highlighted that women constitute 80% of the voting population in the state and pledged to work towards ensuring that 35% of government positions are held by women.

The Labour Party's state chairman, William Okef, and national chairman, Nenadi Usman, expressed their support for the candidates.
