Lagos Government Denies Viral Video of Oja Oba Bridge

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has refuted claims made in a viral video that depicted individuals allegedly residing under the Oja Oba Bridge. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, clarified that the footage was recorded approximately two years ago and does not accurately represent the current situation at the site.

Wahab addressed the issue in a post on 𝕏, responding to a user's claim that suggested ongoing habitation under the bridge. He emphasized the importance of verifying information before publication, warning that the spread of outdated or misleading content could incite unnecessary public concern and exert undue pressure on government agencies.

Wahab reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maintaining a clean and environmentally sustainable state and called on residents to share only accurate and verified information.
