Sanwo-Olu Inspects Vandalized Festac-Alakija Bridge

On Saturday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu conducted an inspection of the Festac-Alakija Bridge, which had been vandalized by suspected individuals. Accompanied by contractors, members of the State Executive Council, and local government chairmen, he assessed the damage to the bridge.

Following the inspection, Sanwo-Olu assured residents that the bridge remained structurally sound and issued a stern warning to those involved in the vandalism, stating that the full weight of the law would be applied to both the vandals and those purchasing stolen government property. He urged the public to avoid engaging in such practices.

This visit followed his earlier directive to security agencies to locate and prosecute the vandals, which he described as a criminal assault on public infrastructure. A viral video had shown significant damage to the bridge, attributed to suspected scavengers, leading to the arrest of at least 27 individuals connected to the incident.
