Lagos Hospital Enhances Cardiovascular Care at Forum

IWSAN Lagoon Hospital in Lagos hosted a forum aimed at strengthening cardiovascular care, coinciding with its 40th anniversary. The event, led by Prof.

Olurotimi Badero, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, brought together cardiologists, vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, internists, general practitioners, and patient advocates to discuss clinical approaches to peripheral artery disease. This condition is often linked to preventable amputations when diagnosed late and poorly managed.

Prof. Badero, who is the head of the interventional cardiology program at the hospital, noted that modern endovascular techniques can save limbs and improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Ayobami Kuyoro, the hospital's managing director, explained that the forum was designed to enhance clinical knowledge and promote collaboration among specialists, thereby raising the standard of vascular care in Nigeria.

Dr. Bisi Oyeniran, the chief executive officer of IWSAN Lagoon Hospital, highlighted the hospital's commitment to providing world-class healthcare locally, reducing the need for Nigerians to seek advanced cardiovascular treatment abroad.
