NSCDC and Housing Ministry Enhance Security in Lagos Estates

Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, met with Engr. Abdulhafis Gbolahan Toriola, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Housing, to strengthen inter-agency cooperation on security in government estates. The meeting, held at Keshinro's office in Alausa, focused on enhancing security arrangements to protect residents and public housing infrastructure.

Toriola emphasized the need for NSCDC's support in identifying abandoned buildings, which pose security risks. Keshinro assured Toriola of the NSCDC's commitment to collaborate and deploy personnel across Lagos to assist in identifying these structures.

The initiative aims to provide reliable information for government strategies to secure vulnerable locations and improve resident safety. Keshinro directed NSCDC Divisional Officers to begin identifying abandoned houses within their Areas of Responsibility.

This exercise is expected to help prevent criminal activities associated with neglected buildings and address risks related to potential building collapses.
