Police Arrest Four Aiye Cult Members in Lagos Operation

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) arrested four suspected members of the Aiye confraternity cult group in Mushin, Lagos. The arrests followed credible intelligence regarding cult activities in the area.

The first suspect, Irawo Moshod, allegedly admitted to being a former chairman of the group and provided information about its activities, including involvement in multiple killings. Based on his disclosures, operatives recovered a locally made Beretta pistol and 9mm live ammunition in Idi-Oro, Mushin.

Three additional suspects, Abayomi James (29), Farouq Bankole (28), and Steven Sunday (19), were arrested at Aganran by Ojuwoye, where they confirmed their membership in the Aiye confraternity and identified Rilwan as the group's leader. The suspects remain in custody and are assisting with investigations.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operation, emphasizing the command's commitment to combating cultism and violent crime in Lagos.
