Lagos State Launches Aerial Surveillance for Security

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has commenced aerial surveillance patrols across Lagos, aimed at bolstering security and reassuring residents. The initiative, led by Executive Secretary Ayodel Ogunsan, began on a Friday and is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and support intelligence-led security operations.

Ogunsan described the initiative as a proactive measure to strengthen rapid response capabilities and protect lives and property. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed security agencies to ensure the safety of residents despite prevailing security concerns in the country.

The aerial patrols will become a regular feature in the state's security architecture, with the aim of identifying areas of security concern. LSSTF boss Fatai Tijani emphasized that the increased presence of surveillance aircraft should not alarm residents, as they are part of a coordinated effort to tackle crime effectively.

The aerial operations are designed to boost public confidence in the police and demonstrate their readiness to address criminal activities.
