Lagos Seals 20 Properties in Ikeja for Planning Violations

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), sealed over 20 properties in the Ikeja Local Government Area due to various physical planning infractions. This enforcement action was announced in a statement on Thursday and is part of ongoing efforts to uphold compliance with the state's physical planning laws.

The operation was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, Olayinka Wasiu, and the General Manager of LASPPPA, Kehinde Osinaike, along with agency directors. The affected properties included uncompleted buildings and structures with unauthorized extensions, all found in violation of the Lagos State Physical Planning Law.

Wasiu emphasized that the enforcement is a proactive measure to prevent building collapses and promote orderly development. He urged property owners to obtain the necessary planning permits and approvals before any development.

The Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, through LASPPPA, will continue to monitor and enforce regulations to maintain a safe and sustainable built environment.
