Ok Ogb Community Faces Severe Infrastructure Crisis

The community of Ok Ogb in Badagry, Lagos State, is grappling with significant infrastructural neglect, particularly concerning a 2.9-kilometer link road that was supposed to be completed within six months during Babatunde Fashola's administration but remains abandoned. This road is crucial for connecting 14 communities to the Badagry Expressway, yet it has become a death trap due to stagnant floodwaters and deteriorating conditions.

Residents, including farmers and traders, face economic hardships as commercial vehicles refuse to ply the road, forcing them to rely on makeshift wooden bridges to access the outside world. The lack of a local hospital and functional health centers exacerbates the situation, with pregnant women and critically ill children unable to receive timely medical care.

Educational challenges are also prevalent, as parents cannot afford private schooling, and children must navigate hazardous conditions to reach government schools. Promises from politicians during election seasons have repeatedly failed to address these pressing issues, leaving the community in despair.
