Letter Shows Wike Was Invited To PDP NEC Meeting, Despite His Denial

Despite Governor Wike's denial, a letter obtained by TheCable shows that he was invited to the PDP NEC meeting. Wike had previously stated in an interview on Politics Today that he was not aware of the opposition party's plans for a national convention in November.

However, he mentioned that the PDP NEC meeting on July 24 had approved Ibadan as the venue for the convention and the election of a new NWC. The letter, dated July 10, 2025, and signed by PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, invited the governor to the 101st NEC meeting with details of the date, time, and venue.

Despite this evidence, Wike maintained that the proper process was followed and denied any plans to organize a parallel convention.
