LP Chair Praises INEC for Monitoring Ward Congresses

Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its professional monitoring of the party's nationwide ward congresses. This commendation was made during a statement issued in Abuja by Ken Asogwa, the senior special adviser on media and public affairs.

The congresses are part of the LP's efforts to reorganize ahead of its national convention. Usman expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the congresses held in Jere South and Jere North wards in Kaduna State.

She praised INEC's oversight role, noting that the congresses were conducted peacefully and produced new executives expected to guide the party's grassroots affairs. The LP has scheduled local government congresses for April 24, state congresses for April 25, and a national convention for April 28 in Umuahia, Abia State.

Usman reiterated the party's commitment to inclusivity, particularly regarding gender balance in its administration.
