Makinde Engages EU Delegation on Agriculture and Education

On Tuesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde hosted a delegation from the European Union, led by Ambassador Gautier Mignot, at the ECOWAS private residence in Ibadan. The meeting aimed to foster collaboration in agriculture and education while addressing gender-based violence.

Notable attendees included Professor Leila Mathieu, a representative from the European Union in Nigeria, and Governor Makinde's advisors, Debo Akande and Revd Idowu Ogedengbe. During a private session with journalists, Ambassador Mignot indicated that this was his first visit to the state, emphasizing discussions on agricultural development and climate change.

The dialogue aimed to strengthen Oyo State's position as a significant food producer in Nigeria and to explore educational partnerships, particularly focusing on youth and women. The meeting also highlighted the potential of the cocoa sector and the value chain in the dairy sector as priority projects.
