Makinde/Daura Campaign Launches Town Hall Meetings in 2026

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organization announced the start of zonal stakeholders' meetings, commencing on September 22, 2026, in Katsina, North West zone. Tony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to Seyi Makinde, the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, stated that these meetings aim to enhance citizen and stakeholder engagement across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

Following Katsina, the campaign will proceed to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on September 25, 2026, for the South South meeting, then to Lafia, Nasarawa State on September 28, 2026, for the North Central meeting, and conclude with the South East meeting in Enugu on September 30, 2026. Additionally, the APM has filed a lawsuit against the Abia State Government, Governor Alex Otti, and others over a N200 million mandatory campaign fee for displaying campaign materials, arguing that it contravenes the Constitution and the Electoral Act 2026.
