Makinde's Infrastructure Drive to Boost Oyo Investments

Economic expert Olatunji Smith Balogun commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for initiating an infrastructure boom designed to transform the state into a prime destination for foreign investors. Balogun highlighted key projects such as the construction of the Ibadan Circular Road and the upgrading of Ibadan Airport to international standards as strategic moves.

He emphasized that only a visionary leader could foresee the long-term global economic benefits of investing in capital projects for Ibadan and Oyo State. Drawing a historical parallel, Balogun referenced his late father, Dr Ganiyu Kolawole Balogun, who served as the first chairman of the Ibadan Municipal Government from 1976 to 1979.

He noted that his father faced criticism for initiating road construction that is still beneficial today. Balogun asserted that Governor Makinde is similarly facing challenges for his forward-thinking approach, urging Ibadan residents and the people of Oyo State to appreciate a leader focused on future development.
