23-Year-Old Allegedly Slits Father's Throat with Machete in Cross River Tragedy

In Cross River State, a 23-year-old man, Bassei Ubi, allegedly attacked his father with a machete, resulting in the father's death. The incident occurred in the Yakurr Local Government Area, specifically in Ugep.

The suspect, believed to be a drug addict, slit his father's throat shortly after the father returned from church. Police spokesperson Sundai Eitokpah confirmed the tragic event, mentioning that the suspect was rescued from a mob by police officers.

The suspect sustained injuries during the intervention and was taken for medical treatment before being detained for further investigation. The deceased's body was moved to a morgue in Ugep.
