Man Charged with Killing Wife and Arson in Kano

Ali has been charged with two counts: culpable homicide and arson, following an incident where he allegedly killed his wife and subsequently set their house ablaze. During the court proceedings, when the charges were read, Ali pleaded not guilty.

The prosecuting counsel, Barrister Lamido Abba Sorondinki, requested the court to adjourn the case to allow the state to present its case with the defense counsel, Barrister Dabo Prai, urging the court to uphold the bail previously granted to Ali. The Gezawa Division of the Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Sanusi Ado Ma Aji, declined to grant an immediate request for bail but allowed the defense to file a fresh bail application.

The case has been adjourned until July 27 for this purpose.
