Man Arrested in Edo for Assaulting Osun Traffic Warden

A man was arrested in Edo State for assaulting a female traffic warden who was performing her duties in Osun State. The incident, which was captured in a viral video, showed the suspect attacking the officer with a stick and a shovel.

Following public outrage, the Osun State Police Command issued a statement on Tuesday, confirming that they had launched a coordinated intelligence operation to track down the suspect, who had fled the scene to evade arrest. The police successfully apprehended him today, with Abiodun Ojelabi, the police public relations officer, describing the arrest as a demonstration of their resolve to ensure that attacks on law enforcement officers do not go unpunished.

The police condemned the assault, labeling it as barbaric and unacceptable, and urged the public to respect law enforcement officers and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
