Man Arrested for Attempting to Kidnap His Aunt in Delta

Chukwemeka Destini, a 31-year-old man, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly attempting to kidnap his aunt, Edaf Bright Destini, who raised him for ten years. The plot involved a payment of N900,000 to five suspects for the abduction.

Destini made an initial deposit of N200,000, followed by a second payment of N700,000. The plan unraveled when the intended kidnapping turned into a police operation, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

During interrogation, Destini admitted his guilt but could not explain his motivations. He described his actions as "devil's work." His aunt expressed shock upon learning of the plot, noting that Destini had distanced himself from the family for years.

The Delta State Police Command is continuing its investigation into the case, emphasizing the need for community vigilance against such violent crimes.
