Woman Fakes Kidnapping, Found in Delta Hotel with Lover

Oluchi, a married woman, staged her own kidnapping in Delta State, demanding a ransom of N50 million from her family, which included her daughter Anita, who resides in Canada. Oluchi falsely claimed to have been abducted and even reduced the ransom to N20 million.

The police investigation, led by a crack team, traced her to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, where she was found with her lover. Upon discovery, Oluchi contacted her husband, asking him not to inform their children about the situation.

The family expressed shock and disappointment over her actions, stating that it shattered their trust and caused significant distress, especially concerning the father's health. The Harmoni Ladi Club, to which Anita belongs, issued a statement expressing deep disappointment and embarrassment over Oluchi's actions.

Edo State police spokesman Eno Ikoedem confirmed that four individuals were arrested in connection with the staged kidnapping incident.
