Man Stabbed to Death in Ikom, Cross River State

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:37 PM, a stabbing incident occurred in Ikom, Cross River State, resulting in the death of 36-year-old Charl Ekuma Ez. The altercation involved 42-year-old Dai Michael Ndifon, who allegedly stabbed Ez in the right side of the rib with a dagger.

Following the incident, the victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment but was later referred to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, where he was confirmed dead. The Cross River State Police Command confirmed the incident and reported that Ndifon has been arrested, with the murder weapon recovered as evidence.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive investigation.

The police have urged the community to remain calm and allow the law to take its course.
