Gianinna Maradona Accuses Medical Team of Manipulation

Gianinna Maradona, daughter of the late Argentine football legend Diego Maradona, testified in court regarding the alleged manipulation of her family by her father's medical team, which she claims contributed to his death in 2020. During the trial, she described the medical team as "total manipulators," specifically naming neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, and nurse Carlo Diaz.

The seven-member medical team is accused of gross negligence leading to Maradona's death at age 60. Gianinna stated that they convinced her father to recuperate at home in Tigre, despite serious medical options being available.

She expressed that their actions left her son without a grandfather. The defense argues that Maradona's lifestyle, including battles with cocaine and alcohol addiction, contributed to his health issues, which ultimately led to his death from heart failure and acute pulmonary edema two weeks after surgery.

The first trial regarding Maradona's death was annulled last year due to revelations about a judge's involvement in a clandestine documentary.
