May Yul-Edochie Sues for ₦1.5bn Over Privacy Leak

May Yul-Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has initiated a lawsuit for ₦1.5 billion against her former legal representative and others, citing the alleged leak of her private information online. The lawsuit, filed at the Lagos High Court, names her former lawyer Yinka Omolola and partner Emeka Ugwuony as defendants, along with unidentified operators of social media accounts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

May Yul-Edochie accuses these individuals of orchestrating a coordinated campaign of online harassment that has spanned several years, involving manipulated photographs, AI-generated images, and fabricated stories that have caused her humiliation and damage to her commercial standing. The lawsuit also alleges a breach of solicitor-client confidentiality, claiming that her former lawyer disclosed privileged information publicly.

May Yul-Edochie seeks a perpetual injunction to stop the alleged harassment and compel the removal of the disputed content from social media platforms.
