Italian Mechanic Sets Record with World’s Thinnest Car

Andrea Marazzi, a 30-year-old mechanic from Italy, has broken the world record for the thinnest drivable car by converting a 1993 Fiat Panda into a vehicle measuring just 19.5 inches wide. This project, which took about a year to complete, began as a joke at his family's auto dismantling business but evolved into a serious challenge to create something unique.

The finished product, known as the Flat Fiat, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records. Despite its narrow design, the car is roadworthy, featuring four wheels, one headlight, and a single seat, allowing Marazzi to drive it comfortably.

The vehicle weighs approximately 582 pounds and can reach a top speed of 9.3 mph. Marazzi retained over 90% of the Panda's original components during the transformation.

He chose the Fiat Panda due to its popularity and history of modifications. Marazzi hopes his creation will inspire individuals with learning difficulties to pursue innovative ideas.
