Minister Musawa Commits to Preserving Tumbuleke's Legacy

Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, visited the family of veteran Hausa actor Mohammed Sani, popularly known as Tumbuleke, on Adamawa road in Kaduna, to express condolences following his death on August 11, 2026, at the age of 86 after an illness. Musawa described Tumbuleke's passing as a significant loss to Nigeria's creative industry, recognizing his extensive contributions to Hausa-language entertainment, particularly through productions by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the 1980s.

During her visit, Musawa committed to documenting Tumbuleke's works and preserving his artistic contributions for future generations. She expressed her intention to have a comprehensive discussion with the family about this initiative, although time constraints limited their conversation.

Musawa prayed for the deceased's soul and offered condolences to his family, emphasizing the importance of preserving Tumbuleke's enduring legacies in the arts.
