Musawa Commits to Preserving Tumbuleke's Legacy

Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, visited the family of veteran Hausa actor Mohammed Sani, popularly known as Tumbuleke, following his death on August 11, 2026, at the age of 86 after an illness. Musawa expressed her condolences during her visit to Tumbuleke's residence on Adamawa road in Kaduna.

She described Tumbuleke's passing as a significant loss to Nigeria's creative industry, acknowledging his extensive contributions to Hausa-language entertainment, particularly through productions by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the 1980s. Musawa committed to exploring ways to document and preserve Tumbuleke's artistic contributions for future generations.

Although she intended to have a comprehensive discussion with the family about preserving his legacy, time constraints limited their conversation. Musawa expressed her intention to meet with the family again to ensure Tumbuleke's enduring legacies are preserved and prayed for the strength of his family during this difficult time.
