Defence Minister Musa Stresses Security for National Unity

On Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary, General Christopher Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defence, stated that security is the fundamental foundation for national unity and shared prosperity. He made these remarks during an inter-denominational church service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, attended by government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

The service, themed ‘Anchored on Hope: The Path to Divine Stability and Shared Prosperity,’ included Musa delivering the first Scripture reading focused on faith, national peace, and collective security. He urged Nigerians to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria in their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and restoring peace.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also spoke, emphasizing the need for harmony as the country approaches future civic milestones, including the 2027 elections. The event concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the 66th Independence Anniversary cake by Musa and other dignitaries.
