PGF Denies Uzodimma's Removal Amid Senate Tensions

The Progress Governors Forum (PGF) issued a statement on Thursday, dismissing claims regarding the removal of Hope Uzodimma as its chairman, labeling the reports as false and misleading. Folorunso Aluko, the PGF's Director General, confirmed that no meeting had taken place to decide on Uzodimma's position, asserting that he remains the chairman.

The PGF urged the public and party members to disregard the misleading reports. Concurrently, the Senate faced internal strife as it reversed controversial amendments to its standing orders, following a clash between Adam Oshiomhole and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele explained that the reversal was necessary to align with constitutional provisions. Oshiomhole criticized the Senate leadership for rushing the amendments, claiming they served vested interests.

Amid these developments, the APC is grappling with internal conflicts as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, with various states adopting consensus strategies to maintain party cohesion.
