Musician Sufiyanu Abubakar Killed in Katsina Clash

Sufiyanu Abubakar, a well-known local musician referred to as Abu Amshi, was killed in a violent clash in Katsina on Friday, during Sallah celebrations. The attack took place outside his father's residence in the Shararrar Pipe area.

Reports indicate that assailants stormed the home around 2 AM on Saturday, searching for Abubakar's younger brother, leading to a confrontation that resulted in Abubakar being rushed to the hospital due to severe injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.

Family members have called for justice following the incident. The violence reportedly erupted as a result of earlier conflicts in the community, with at least two people killed in previous clashes, including an incident on March 20 that left a resident named Hamza seriously injured.

Police authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the ongoing violence.
