Delta Ethnic Peace & Unity Cup 2026 Launched in Delta

Chief Mulade Sheriff, the Convener of the 2026 Delta Ethnic Peace & Unity Cup and National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the youth football competition. The tournament aims to strengthen peace, unity, cultural integration, and youth empowerment across Delta State.

Chief Mulade, who holds the title of Ibe-Sorimowei of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, stated that the initiative, organized in collaboration with the Africa 4 Peace Sports Academy, seeks to unite the state's seven major ethnic nationalities: Ijaw, Itsekiri, Isoko, Aniocha/Oshimili, Ika, Ndokwa, and Urhobo. The competition, themed “One in All,” will include four age categories—Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-20.

Winners will receive multi-million naira prizes to encourage participation. Chief Mulade urged stakeholders to support the initiative, emphasizing that peaceful coexistence is vital for attracting investments and development opportunities in Delta State.
