NAF Intensifies Air Operations Against Terrorism in North-West

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its air operations against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities across the North-West region of Nigeria, with a specific focus on Sokoto State. This initiative aims to enhance aerial surveillance, sustain pressure on hostile elements, and improve the capacity of security forces to respond swiftly to emerging threats within the Joint Operations Area.

The NAF stated that the increased air presence is crucial for countering asymmetric threats, as terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrains to evade ground forces. By leveraging the reach, speed, and flexibility of air power, the NAF seeks to locate and disrupt hostile elements, restrict their movement, and create operational opportunities for ground forces.

This effort underscores the importance of effective air-ground coordination in addressing evolving security challenges.
