NAFDAC to Shut Down Unregistered Water Sellers in Kano

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), under the leadership of Prof. Moji Adeyeye, has announced a crackdown on unregistered water sellers in Kano.

During a national conference of the Association of Table Water Producers in Nigeria (ATWAP), Adeyeye vowed to seal off any unregistered companies operating in unhygienic conditions. She highlighted the critical importance of table water as a vital product and stated that the agency would not hesitate to take immediate action against non-compliant producers.

Tshiamo T. Tanimowo, the agency's coordinator in Kano, supported this initiative, emphasizing the need for regulatory compliance in the industry.

Adeyeye also addressed challenges faced by the association, including regulatory pressures and economic uncertainties, and expressed satisfaction with ATWAP's certification as a member of the International Water Association (IWA) in 2023, aiming to foster better compliance culture in the industry.
