NANS Appeals to UNILAG for 48-Hour Fees Portal Reopening

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the University of Lagos to reopen its school fees payment and course registration portal for 48 hours. This appeal follows the portal's closure on June 21, which NANS argues jeopardizes many students' ability to register and pay fees before examinations commence on August 10.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by NANS President Akinteye Babatunde, the association expressed concern over the timing of the closure, especially as many families are facing economic hardships. NANS emphasized that the university's decision could hinder students who were actively trying to pay their fees.

While acknowledging the university's administrative rights, NANS urged management to exercise compassion and flexibility in light of the current economic challenges. The association requested the reopening of the portal to allow affected students one last opportunity to complete their registration before exams begin.
