NASENI Denies Misconduct Claims Over Campus Project Fees

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has denied allegations of financial misconduct related to a 30% contract mobilization fee for its ongoing NASENI Campus project. In a statement by Director of Information Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, NASENI criticized Sahara Reporters and Secret Reporters for publishing misleading information without seeking clarification.

The reports falsely claimed that NASENI hurriedly paid CGC Nigeria Limited N10.648 billion Naira as mobilization fee in December 2025. NASENI clarified that the mobilization fee was compliant with the amended Public Procurement Act, which allows a maximum of 30% mobilization, increased from 15% under the Finance Act, 2020.

The contract was awarded to CGC Nigeria Limited following approval from the Federal Executive Council in November 2025, after the company met all technical and financial requirements and provided a bank guarantee. The agency stressed its commitment to public accountability and adherence to procurement regulations.
