NCC Launches Mentorship Program for Women in Telecom

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has initiated a mentorship network specifically for female professionals in the telecommunications sector. This program, launched in Abuja, aims to build a sustainable platform that encourages women to share experiences and support each other in reaching leadership positions.

Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, emphasized the importance of this initiative in shaping the next generation of women leaders.

Rimini Makama, the Commission's Executive Commissioner, highlighted that the program is designed to institutionalize a mentorship framework that will endure beyond the current management. The NCC has made significant strides in promoting gender inclusivity, with 70 percent of its directors being women.

This program marks the NCC's first deliberate effort to establish a structured mentorship network for female professionals, aiming to enhance female leadership within the commission and the broader telecommunications industry.
