Dickson Critiques Efforts to Weaken Nigeria's Opposition

Seriak Dickson, a leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), made statements during an interview on a political program on Sunday, addressing concerns about efforts to destabilize the opposition in Nigeria. He specifically referred to a recent judgment from the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the registration of the NDC.

Dickson accused certain individuals of seeking flimsy excuses to weaken and scatter the political opposition, which he deemed worrisome for the democratic process in Nigeria. He also mentioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its leadership under Nafiu Gomb, who held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to formally appoint David Mark as a leader, emphasizing the need for credible and dynamic political leadership in the country.
